Obituary for Kenneth "Jack" Standley
Kenneth "Jack" Standley, 94 of Kansas City died on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at his home.
Jack was born on October 30th, 1919 in Bogard, Missouri to Claude and Lou (Shipp) Standley. He attended school at the Missouri School for the Deaf through 12th grade. He did odd jobs and traveled the country by train until he met his wife and they settled in Kansas City to raise their family. He worked as a shipping/receiving clerk for 43 years.
Jack loved his family and working with his hands. He was known for all his homemade tools and ability to fix almost anything. In his later years he spent most of his time with his wife of 55 years, Dorothy. They truly enjoyed each other's company and spending their retirement traveling with the kids.
Loving husband and father was the role he loved the most. He was living proof of God's love and grace.
Jack is survived by his wife, Dorothy Standley, his children Jo (Robert) Harris, Darla (Bruce) Adrian, Donna Greenwell, 6 grand kids, and 3 great grand kids.
Visitation will be from 4:30-6:00 p.m. and services will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15th, 2014 at Glenwood Baptist Church, 3710 N. Holmes, KCMO.
