Obituary for Troy R. Porter
Troy Russell Porter, 41, Smithville, MO was suddenly called home to the Lord Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at his home.
Troy was born in Independence, MO October 29, 1971 to Linda Harrington and Cecil Porter. Troy grew up in Independence, MO with his brothers Ed and Jacob. He attended school at Hope Day Christian Academy before going on to receive his certificate in Computer Technology.
In 1995 Troy became the proud father of a beautiful baby girl, Danielle Kristen who he referred to as his sunshine. This was the beginning of fatherhood for Troy as he became the proud father of a handsome strong son Brent Russell in 1997.
In 2002 Troy meet Rachel Wilson and knew he had finally met the love of his lifetime. Troy and Rachel were blessed with one of Gods special angels in 2003 when Troy's "littleman" Gavin Richard Lee was born. Troy and Rachel united in marriage on March 19, 2005 and after a year and a half their family was completed by the birth of their son in 2006 Wilson Daniel Joseph aka "Boo" and "Mr. Wilson".
Troy loved many things in life and was always making friends with his sense of humor and warm smile. But most of all Troy loved his family, his kids were his everything and he will be greatly missed by all 4 of them.
Troy was preceded in death by his father, Cecil; brother, Jacob; grandparents, Clyde and Esther Porter and Wally and Lea Harrington; uncle, Russell Harrington and a cousin.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel of the home l; children, Danielle, Brent, Gavin and Wilson; mother and stepfather, Linda and Paul Nuckles; mother and father-in-law, Tammy and Dale Best; brother, Ed Porter; sisters-in-law, Samantha and husband Selvin, Sabrina and husband Carlos and Alexis; as well as 5 nepews, 2 nieces as well as expecting his 3rd niece any day and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Life will never be the same without you, but knowing the love of my life is watching over me and our family preparing my place in Heaven will help to ease the pain. I love you always and forever Troy Russell! ALL MY LOVE Rachel Ann.
Memorial services will be 7PM Monday September 16th at Souder Family Funeral Home with a visitation from 6-7 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in honor of Troy are suggested to the trust fund being set up for his children.
