GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Be the first to share your favorite memory, photo or story of Nathan. This memorial page is dedicated for family, friends and future generations to celebrate the life of their loved one.
We ask on behalf of the family that you keep your comments uplifting and appropriate to help all who come here to find comfort and healing.
Nathan Adam Cox died on November 4, 2022 surrounded by his family after suffering from a long debilitating illness. He was preceded in death by his father Gary Cox and step-father, Peter Arteaga. Nate is survived by his loving wife Jackie, his mother, Sharon Arteaga, his sisters Laura Terry, Christina Rodriguez, Tracy Atkinson, Kelly Baze, and his step-mother, Vicki Cox.
Nate was a loving and goofy uncle to his many nieces and nephews who no doubt have some great stories and memories of their Uncle Nate.
Nathan grew up in Blue Springs, Missouri, Medicine Lodge, Kansas, Wichita, Kansas, and graduated high school in Florence Kentucky before returning to the Kansas City area. He graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 2002 with a degree in mechanical engineering. In 2003, he and Jackie were married and began their life together. In 2005, they adopted a cat, Eliza Doolittle, and she stole his heart.
Nate’s working years were spent at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant and Honeywell before his illness. He was an avid worker in his yard and a major fan of science fiction, especially the “Star Wars” films. He knew the dialogue of the earlier films by heart. He loved cars from his earliest childhood and his favorite pastime was tinkering with them and of course always keeping them really clean.
Nate’s passing has left an empty space and will be forever missed.
The family would like to thank everyone who supported us through this journey in any way. They especially want to give a big thank you to Morningside Place for taking such great care of Nate.
A celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 PM Friday November 18, 2022 at Souder Family Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable contributions in memory of Nate Cox be made to Brain Support Network, PO Box 7264, Menlo Park, CA 94026, www.brainsupportnetwork.org.
