Pearl Norman Jordan
Pearl Jordan, 99, peacefully went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at New Mark Care Center. Pearl was born April 10, 1917, in Moultrie, Georgia to Wm H and Julia Norman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Jonah Joshua, Wm. Henry, Jr. and Ray Gene Norman and three sisters, Essie Gay Keaton, Clydie Mae Norman and Johnnie Porter and a granddaughter Deborah Moore. She is survived by a brother Everett L. Norman (Louise) of Moultrie, Georgia, and a sister Grace McCarty Allen of Winter Haven, Florida.
Pearl graduated from Norman Jr. College in 1940, married William W. Jordan in 1941 (who preceded her in death in 1992), moved to Kansas City, MO in 1946. As a Baptist minister's wife she lived in Clifton Hill, Leeton, Rothville and Moberly, Mo.
In 1968 Pearl moved back to Kansas City where she was a member of the Armour Heights Baptist Church, worked and retired from K-Mart as a Sales Associate. She then moved to Warrensburg to be near daughter Linda and family. Residing there 26 yrs., she was a member of the First Baptist Church, active in Senior Exercise Class and well known for her beautiful flowers, particularly the pink azalea which made the Daily Star Journal season after season. At the age of 95, she moved back to Kansas City to live with daughter Bonnie and Ernie to age 99 when her health demanded special care. While there her membership was at Faith Baptist Church.
Pearl had 3 children - Bonnie Brown (Ernest), K.C. MO, Harold Jordan (Nasrin), Chapel Hill, NC, and Linda Guin (John), Warrensburg, MO; 6 grandchildren - John Moore (Rick), Deborah Moore (deceased), David Guin (Amy), Ryan Guin (Stephanie), Saba Jordan (Bitha) and Nura Hill (Jacob). She had 5 great grandchildren with a 6th one on the way.
A local memorial service for Pearl will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017, from 2-4 p.m. at Souder Family Funeral Home, 1333 NE Barry Rd., Kansas City, MO.
A full service will be held in Moultrie, Georgia, on Friday, January 27, arrangements through the Cobb Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m., funeral at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Deep Bottom Cemetery in Norman Park, Georgia.
