Wilma Ann Anderson was born in Glenwood, MO on December 22, 1935 and passed away on April 27, 2025 at North Kansas City Hospital after a brief illness.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Gerald N Anderson Sr., her parents William A Camden and Mabel E Camden, her two sisters Dorothy Gordon and Leota Shook, and two of her daughters Shirley A Anderson and Debra S Bridge. She is survived by her son, Gerald (Jerry) Anderson Jr. (wife Lori) and her daughter Mary Woodruff (husband Dennis) as well as 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ann grew up in Ottumwa, IA, graduating from Ottumwa High School in 1953. During her senior year God blessed her in meeting Gerald, the love of her life. They were married for 54 wonderful years. They enjoyed raising a family, serving the Lord together, camping, fishing, and just being together.
Ann was always there to advise and help anyone in any way she could. Despite the many physical challenges she had to overcome, including childhood polio and being wheelchair-bound during the last years of her life, it was important to her to attend every family event and every church service possible.
But the greatest focus of her life was her relationship to Jesus and her love for Him and his followers. Throughout her life she faithfully served; teaching Sunday School, serving on the Mission Board, heading up Vacation Bible School, singing in the choir, being faithful in prayer and giving , and sharing the good news of Christ with anyone who would listen.
Ann’s death leaves a great void and she will be deeply missed. She is our beloved mom, grandmother, and friend. But we are comforted knowing that as she stepped into heaven her faith in her Savior Jesus is now sight!
Please help celebrate the life of Ann by sharing a memory or expressing your condolences to the family.
