Michael Carl Heater (70) passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, April 9th, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family and is fully healed and in the presence of his savior, Jesus Christ.
He was saved, by God’s grace and kindness, and came to know the Lord on December 9th, 1983. He was not ashamed of the gospel and anyone who came in contact with him would hear about Jesus. He had the words of the Bible always on the tongue and shared them with anyone he would encounter. When people would ask how he was doing, his response every time was “Better than I deserve.” Even on his worst days, this was his claim.
Mike was a wonderful husband to his wife, Mary, and still loved her deeply after being married for 45 years. He was an incredible father who talked daily with his two sons, Michael Jr. and Mark, doing whatever it took to spend time with them, help them, and love on them. As he became a grandfather, the greatest joys of his life were his grandsons: Dominic (19), Zachary (18) and Quinton (14). He loved to spend time talking with them and enjoyed watching them play sports and ride dirt bikes. He cherished time making memories with his family. He loved to work on cars and spent most of his time at home in his shop fixing cars for others. He enjoyed going to cruise nights and riding his motorcycle. He treasured spending time with this brothers playing golf.
Mike is survived by his wife, Mary; his two sons, Michael Jr. and Mark Heater; daughter-in-law he claimed as his own, Danielle Heater. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elvin & Ann Heater and his favorite aunt, Margaret DiGiovanna.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Faith Christian Academy, where his grandsons attend school and play sports or Discover Church, where he attended and served.
Memorial services will be 6PM Friday, April 12, 2024 at Faith Community Church 4330 NW Cookingham Drive Kansas City, MO with a visitation from 5-6 PM.
Please help celebrate the life of Michael by sharing a memory or expressing your condolences to the family.
