Obituary for Mary Katherine Brown
Mary Katherine Brown, 84, passed away Wednesday October 20, 2021. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday October 26, 2021 at Souder Family Funeral Home. A visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Second Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Children’s Mercy Hospital or KC Pet Project.
Mary was born October 22, 1936 to Cecil and Gladys Witherspoon in Clinton MO, where she was raised. She graduated from Clinton High School. Mary married Walter Brown on June 10th 1956. They had three daughters, Cathy Ann born Oct 6th 1957, Denise Lynn born July 28th 1959 and Janet Sue born Oct 25th 1962.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Gladys Witherspoon; brothers, Junior and Leroy Witherspoon. Survivors include her husband, Walter; daughters, Cathy Brown, Denise Martin (Raymond), Janet Jorgenson; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother, Edwin Witherspoon (Carol); and numerous nieces and nephews.
