Obituary for Martha Jane Rogers

Martha Jane Rogers 76 years old passed away peacefully Monday December 22, 2025, surrounded by family.

Martha Jane Lindsay was born May 24, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Arthur Lindsay and Donna Jean Lee.

On December 31, 1966, she married Jerry Richard Rogers and together they raised three beautiful children Brian Keith, Jason Michael, and Mechelle Renee.

Known to many as “Janie” worked at Trails Inn where she met her best friend, husband Jerry. She dedicated 29 years of her life to running a home daycare where she treated each child she watched as her own. She had lifelong bonds with the children and their parents until the day she passed. (Kellers, Heins, Lopez, and Lindsay)

Janie’s greatest accomplishments were her family, whom she cherished above all else and took great joy in spending time with loved ones. Her family was her pride and joy. Her love was boundless for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, laughter, great food (“If you go away from the table hungry, it is your own fault”) and unconditional love. Countless memories were made and treasured in her home. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing bingo, and tending to her gardens.

Janie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, radiant smile, and her ability to make everyone feel special. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Donna, her husband Jerry for 56 years, her sons Brian and Jason, Granddaughters Rebecca Anne, and Beth Ann.

She is survived by daughter Mechelle Zimmerle (Kirk), adopted daughters Melanie Bartch, Janet Rogers, grandchildren Rachel Bartch, Aaron Bartch (Amanda), Nick Blaisdell (Jason), Dylan Riffle, Cole Riffle, Brittney Zimmerle (Brennan), Brandon Zimmerle, great grandchildren, Amelia Bartch, Corbin Duke, Arlo Bartch, Abbott Bartch, Sullivan Duke Aurora Bartch, Sisters Debby Roe (Steven), Patty Kienast, Brother David Lindsay, several cousin, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in lieu of flowers the family kindly request donations to a charity of your choice in her honor.

Janie’s love and dedication to her family, adopted family and friends will remain enduring inspiration to all who knew her.

Please help celebrate the life of Martha bt sharing a memory or expressing your condolences to the family.
