Obituary for Leonid T. Nixon
Leonid T. Nixon, 92, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on August 5, 2020.
He is preceded in death by his parents Eugenia and Timothy Nixon, brothers
Boris, Glenn, Larry, and Walter Nixon, and wife ("my Sweetheart"), Helen Nixon.
Remaining here to cherish his memory are Leo's daughters, Nancy (Nixon) Larrick,
Patricia (Nixon) Sidener, Rebecca (Nixon) Sidener, three grandchildren, four
great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, many adoring nieces and
nephews, and his loving sister, Ludmila (Nixon) Gibbons.

Leo was a U. S. Navy veteran, a graduate from Akron University, and he retired
from the B. F. Goodrich Tire Company after 33 years of service. He was involved
in school and extracurricular sports his entire life - swimming, basketball, baseball, football,
golf, jogging, bowling, and bike riding - and enjoyed attending local high-school and
college sporting events and having coffee with the guys. He had a great appreciation
of music, from Beethoven and Pavarotti to Moody Blues and Bob Seger. Leo was very
interested in his daughters' pursuits in life and was behind them in all of their dreams
and ventures - ballet, tap dance, piano, violin, guitar, band, orchestra, drum and bugle
corps, swim team, gymnastics - and would be their biggest fan. He was at times a
foreboding figure standing at 6' 4" and had a terrific, sarcastic sense of humor, and
loved baking his special Christmas cookies every year. He cherished family gatherings
and was generous with his love, protection, and many, many "rescues" of his kids.

Dad will always be remembered as a caring father and a loving, supportive husband.
He was our tall rock and remained "the boss" up until the very end. We will dearly
miss his earthly presence in our lives, but now we have confidence that he is in the
hands of the Lord God Almighty.

Father, Dad, Daddy, Pop, Papa, Grandpa, Uncle, Brother, - WE LOVE YOU!
