Jerry Richard Rogers passed away peacefully January 24, 2023 at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO.
Jerry was born on July 9, 1948 in Inglewood, CA.
Jerry served 10 years in US Navy. The first 4 years he served in the Helicopter Combat Support Squadron I, AirSea Rescue/Door Gunner with 4 tours in Vietnam. The last 6 years he served as a Meteorologist with the Fleet Numerical Weather Center. After his service in the Navy was a truck driver for 40 years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother Almeda Rogers, Brothers: Donald and Robert, and Sister Juanita. He was also preceded in death by his sons Brian Keith and Jason Michael, Grand daughters Rebecca Ann Bartch and Beth Anne Zimmerle.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Janie; daughter, Mechelle (Kirk) Zimmerle; daughter-in-laws Melanie (Rob) Fields and Janet Rogers; grandchildren, Rachel, Aaron (Amanda), Nick (Jason), Dylan, Cole, Brittney, Brandon; great grandchildren, Amelia, Corbin, Arlo, Abbott, Sullivan, and one due any day; brothers, Clyde and Ronald; brother-in-laws David (Carol) Lindsay and Arthur Mark Lindsay; sister-in-laws, Mary Geurin, Debby (Steve) Roe, Patty Kienast, Dana Rogers and Cindy Wilken; several nieces and nephews; and his extended family, Madeline, Megan, Sam, Allison, Joe, Mara, Addison, Rosslyn and Phebe.
Jerry lived his life for his family and gave his love unconditionally.
The family would like to thank NorthCare Hospice House for the compassion and kindness they gave Jerry and our family.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
