Obituary for James Michael DeSanctis
James Michael DeSanctis, 67, passed away Monday February 17, 2020. Memorial services will be 2PM Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Souder Family Funeral Home with a visitation from 1-2 PM, Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
James was born August 12, 1952 in Long Branch, NJ to John and Helen Desanctis. He graduated from Ocean Township HS class of 1970 In Ocean township NJ. He then went on to graduate from Evangel University in Springfield Missouri class of 1974 with a degree in Political Science. He worked in banking as a branch manger for several different banking institutions in Eatontown NJ, Toms River NJ and Palm City FL. He also worked as an Asset Protection Manager for the Target organization before finally working as a school bus driver of special needs children for the NKC school district .
James enjoyed golfing and he was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals fan. The one thing he was always proud of was a picture taken of him when he was a student at Evangel University in Springfield Missouri with Muhammad Ali. This was taken when Ali walked into a truck stop for a bite to eat.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Colonel John N DeSanctis and Helen Riddle. Survivors include his son, Ryan A. DeSanctis and wife Lindsay; brothers, John DeSanctis and wife Deanna, Mark DeSanctis and wife Dwana, Matthew DeSanctis and wife Davia; sisters, Kathe Moyer and husband Steve, and Ingrid DeSanctis; many cousins, aunts and uncles, and his favorite Uncle Jim Tate.
