Obituary for James L. Jones
James L. Jones of Gladstone, MO passed away Friday, April 21, 2017. Jim was born March 2, 1933 to Mervin and Mary Bragg Jones in Quitman, MO. He was Valedictorian of his graduating class of 1951 from Burlington Junction High School. Jim spent four years serving our country in the United States Air Force from March 1953 to March 1957, three of those years in Greenville, MS. Following his service in the Air Force, Jim's occupation was farming in northwest Missouri. He worked for TWA from March 1968 to May 1995 as an airplane mechanic. After retirement he was able to live out his passion – farming – in the Burlington Junction, MO area. He was also an active member at Antioch Community Church. He married Carolyn (Jeanie) McCausland on August 7, 1982. While they enjoyed many adventures throughout the world together, they loved returning home to their life split between the city and farming.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie, children, Michael McCausland (Carrie), David McCausland (Margarita), Wayne Jones, Teresa Jones Minyard, Jacqueline McCausland Replogle (Stacy), Marinda Jones Turner. Brother, Carroll Jones, (Carolyn), Grandchildren Christopher, Douglas, (Stephanie), Cindy, Kelly, Sarah, (Chris), Brittany, Stuart, Hunter, James, Grace, Hannah, Ben, Shawn, Shelly and great-grandchildren Nathaniel, Mackenzie, George, Scarlett, Maddox, Ayden, Jillian, Delilah, Issac, Lawrence, and a little one due in September.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Antioch Community Church or the Alzheimer's Association, 3846 W. 75th Street, Prairie Village, KS 66208.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Antioch Community Church with a visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.
