James F. (Jimmy) Hill, 80, of Lawrence, KS, passed peacefully on November 21, 2022. He was born to James and Bridgie Hill on June 15, 1942 in Topeks, KS.
Jimmy grew up in Lawrence, KS where he learned the love of football and golf. Jimmy was the quarterback at Lawrence High School, where he met Eleanor (Annie) Zieske. After graduation they married. Jimmy received a scholarship to Fort Hayes State University where he played quarterback and received a BA in Business in 1964.
In 1961 their first son Alan was born and then their second son Steve in 1962.
He worked in construction and manufacturing until he retired in 2007. Jimmy had always been an avid golfer and took a part-time job at Eagle Bend Golf Course where he continued his love of golf.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James G. and Bridgie Hill; and brother, Stephen R. Hill. He is survived by his sons, Alan Hill (Lynn), and Stephen Hill; sister, Mary K and Don Craig; 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmy will be loved and missed always and forever by all his family members and friends.
