Obituary for James Everett Briggs
James Everett Briggs, 78, passed away on November 27, 2016. He was born June 23, 1938 in Brookfield, Mo to Walter and Iva Briggs. Jim was united in marriage to Karen Boeckman on Novemeber 24, 1960.
As a young man Jim enlisted in the Air Force and severed his country as a airplane mechanic. After the military, he became a meat cutter, which was his life long profession of 38 years. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church. He enjoyed working in the orchard and tinkering on his tractor. During his years of retirement he found much joy in spending time with his great grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife Karen, of the home. His children Cindy Eaton (Scott), Michael Briggs (Sandy), Sheri Landrum (Jonathan) and Barbara Kimmel (David), 9 Grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 unborn great grandchild, and sister Doris Posey (Lloyd).
Graveside funeral services with Military honors will be 2:00 PM Tuesday November 29, 2016 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Outreach International 129 W Lexington, Independence, MO 64050
