Obituary for Donald Guy O'Reilly
Donald (Don) O’Reilly of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 29th, 2019 at the age of 82.
Don was born to Ellis and Helen O’Reilly on July 9th, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from North Kansas City High class of 1956, where he made many lifelong friendships. He furthered his education at the University of Missouri, Columbia. On October 28th, 1961, He married his true love, Mary Ann Radmacher. The couple had 5 children. In 1975 Don and Mary started a business, Liberty Compactors, Inc. Don was active in the operation of the business until 2018.
Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary, sons Michael O’Reilly, Timothy O’Reilly, daughters Erin Bair, Shannon O’Reilly, Becket Mead (Dan), grandchildren, Courtney O’Reilly, Emily Harlow (Austin), Britany O’Reilly, Austin Trembly, Whitney O’Reilly, and Aylssa Register (Phillip), Aubrionna Mead and 3 great grandchildren, Brycen O’Reilly, Caden Register, and Adeline Register. Also, by trusted employee and friend, Jack Dodd.
Don always put his family first; never missing his children’s school events or sporting activities, he was always present with his support. He was a dedicated and caring husband, who worked hard to be an excellent provider. All would agree that Don never knew a stranger and helped those in need without hesitation.
Above all, Don was a man of faith. He was a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he enjoyed the friendships of fellow believers.
Funeral services will be held November 9th, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 919 NE 96th Street, KC MO. Visitation at 9:30 a.m., funeral following. Interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery on a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, would be appreciated.
