Delmar R. Ford, 90, of Kearney, MO, formerly of Liberty, MO passed away on Wednesday,
February 21, 2026 at his home. He was born February 9, 1935 in Hardin, MO to Lee Roy and
Gladys Ford.
Delmar graduated from DeKalb High School & served in the U.S. Army as a truck driver
1957-1959. He was married to Marie C. Close (Susie) July 9, 1961. They made their home in
Helena and Union Star, MO before moving to Liberty, MO in 1966.
He made a career as a truck driver for various companies such as KAW, Orscheln, Sears, Ace,
Crete Carriers, & Carter Petroleum. He was a hard worker, a great mechanic, & “Jack of all
trades.” In retirement, he stayed busy volunteering for In As Much Ministries, the Clay County
Election Board & serving at Liberty Baptist Church where he & Marie were members.
Delmar is survived by his children, Glenna (Brian) Rice, Karen (Steve) Bronson, and Patricia
(James) Tournear; 9 grandchildren Kayla Bronson, Cody Tournear, Holly (Greg) Gerke, Leah
(Sean) Hadel, Trevor Tournear, Collin Rice, Anna Bronson, Lora (Michael) Crawmer and Victoria
Tournear; and 6 great grandchildren Wyatt, Arizona and Wade Hadel, Miles and Louis Gerke, &
Laney Crawmer.
Mr. Ford was preceded in death by his wife Marie Carol Ford, son Michael Ray Ford; parents Lee
Roy and Gladys Ford; brother Wendell Ford; & sister Norma Jean Ford.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 22610
State Rte 92, Kearney, MO 64060 at 11am with Jeff Parks officiating. Visitation will be held at 10am
until the time of service.
“...if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from
the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with
your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10
