Obituary for Delcenia Jane Higgins
Delcenia Jane Milligan-Higgins, 76, passed away August 27, 2013. Memorial services will be 11 AM Saturday August 31, at Gashland Baptist Church with a visitation from 10-11 AM.
Delcenia was born July 29, 1937 at the family home in Platte County, MO. She attended 1-8th grade at Line Creek Elementary; 9-12th grade at Park Hill High. Delcenia then went on to pursue a degree in the Culinary Arts. She was the owner of a restaurant called "The Texas Table" in Columbus Texas. She worked as a chef for Thousands Trails RV Parks, and as a cook at New Mark Care Center. Delcenia was friends with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. She donated her time at Freedom Baptist Church in Jacksonville, AR taking care of the children and was an avid reader reading cookbooks for the pure fun of it.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Madison and Ivy Milligan; husband, Thomas Higgins; son, Orville Higgins and brothers, Junior and Stanley Milligan. Survivors include her sisters, Kathleen Foster and Donna and Earl Waugh; 4 children Thomas Higgins & wife Judy, Mary Roberts & husband Billy, Ivy Cross and Jeffery Higgins; grandchildren, William Roberts and Kayleen, Christina Hallauer & husband Nathan, Denise Mays, Heath Higgins & wife Nicole, Jennifer Uzynski & husband Darrin, Timothy Higgins & wife Amber, Theresa Higgins, Ben Higgins and MaryJo, Kyle Cross & wife Amberly, Jessica Cross, Angela Rojas & husband Riggo; great grandchildren, Michelle Roberts & Brandon, Vincent Hallauer, Hunter Hallauer, Madison Higgins, Winifred Higgins, Tyler Uzynski, Trent Uzynski, Anita Montano, Maria Montano, Justin Montano, Junior Montano; great great Grandchild, Bryson Sorrentino.
