Obituary for Cheryl Ann Thomas-Boone
Cheryl Ann Thomas-Boone April 23, 1962 – July 10, 2014
On the evening of July 10, 2014 Cheryl Ann Thomas-Boone passed away following a brief, but brave battle with cancer. Cheryl was 52 years old.
Cheryl was born in Wichita, Kansas on April 23, 1962 to Georgia Lee and Billy Neil Thomas. She was the 6th and youngest child, who always held a special place in her parents’ and siblings’ hearts.
Cheryl and her family moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1964. She graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1980 where she sang in a sextet that won first place at State. Cheryl was so proud of this accomplishment! Following high school, Cheryl went to work at Guys Foods where she was employed for 22 years.
For the past 14 years of a 27 year relationship, Cheryl has been happily married to her best friend and soul mate Douglas Byron Boone of Kansas City, Missouri. She loved her pets, music, the Royals and Chiefs, baking, gardening, entertaining and her family. Cheryl was a vibrant person, full of life and laughter, and always the life of the party! She was also a giver, who was happiest when helping others. Cheryl was truly unforgettable, and will be sorely missed by all who love her!
Cheryl was preceded in death by her baby brother Donald Ray and her father Billy Neil Thomas. She is survived by her husband Douglas Boone, mother Georgia Thomas, brothers Alan, David and Kevin Thomas, sister Lori Thomas, 19 nieces and nephews, and 14 great nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life service at St. Patrick’s Church, 1357 NE 42nd Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri at 1:00 pm on July 19th. The family invites you to join them for this celebration.
