Charles A. “Charlie” Phipps 76 of Plattsburg, Missouri died Friday May 3, 2019 at the North Kansas City Kansas City Hospice House in North Kansas City, Missouri. Born on Sept. 1, 1942 in Maryville, Missouri to Arthur and Alice Ann (Samson) Phipps. He was a 1960 Lafayette High School graduate, served in the Army in Germany and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plattsburg. He was a Boy Scout & a leader for many years. Married Carol “Susie” Phipps on August 8, 1964. After retiring from Butler Manufacturing as a Draftsman, he spent his days with her tending to their HUGE garden and canning over 1000 jars of vegetables each year. They made and sold "the best" cinnamon rolls, bread & pies at the Parkville Farmer's Market while he measured & cut the material for his wife to sew over 300 dresses for the orphans in Haiti.
He was preceded in death by his wife Susie; Parents; Brother JD Phipps; Brother Curtis Phipps; Sister Penny Phipps; Brother Dennis Phipps.
Survivors include his children Melissa Steele (Keith) Moran of Parkville MO; Kristi (Steve) Yates of St Joseph MO; Jennifer (Jeff) Boomgarden of Centerville, IA; Jeff Phipps of Plattsburg MO; Wendy Kreidler of Olathe KS; his brothers Bruce Phipps of St Joseph, MO; Ted Phipps of Des Moines, IA and sister Carol Miester-Canady of St Joseph, MO; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grand children.
The family will have a celebration of life with food and sharing of memories on Friday May 10, 2019 beginning at 3p at the family home, 1002 North Hwy Y, Plattsburg Missouri.
