Obituary for Allen Bliss
Allen Bliss, 83, passed away June 18, 2019 at his home. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Saturday June 22, 2109 at Faith Community Church. There will be a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Faith Community Church.
Allen was born March 4, 1936 in Vicksburg, MS to Allard and Myrtle Bliss. He was an ordained minister at the age of 17 and pastored several churches. He also was a door to door salesman for Kirby vacuum cleaners at a young man. He worked his way up in business at Kirby Vacuums to become a Regional Supervisor over several states which took him to Tennessee. He was then recruited by Rexair/Rainbow vacuums to the same position which brought him to Kansas City in 1991. Allen served our Lord through the Bible Study Ministry with the Anchor House, the jail ministry and one on one mentoring. These guys were a blessing to him and he loved serving his God.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Billye and son, Nick.Survivors include his wife, Josie Bliss of the home; children, Toni, Allen III, Scott and Todd; sisters, Dixie and Georganne.
