Obituary for Aaron Lee Wood
Aaron Lee Wood, 53, of Riverside Mo, passed peacefully the afternoon of May 19, 2021, at NKC hospital with his mother and daughter by his side. He was born June 21, 1967 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Through Aaron's younger years he was involved in several sports, excelling in baseball and football. Aaron had several jobs throughout his life, but his love of family and friends took precedence over all else. The most significant moments of his life were the births of his children and meeting his father, Kelly Wood in April of 1991. From then on, Aaron had great times getting to know his dad, his aunt and uncle, and many cousins. He spent many summers with his family at Fort Robinson for reunions, marriages, and just for fun! Aaron had a great love of music, specifically classic rock and prided himself on knowing the words to any given song. He loved to play pool, fish, and cheer on his Kansas City Chiefs. Above all else, he loved to banter with his friends; especially when it evolved into a battle of wits and humor.
Due to his deteriorating health conditions these last years, he was unable to do many of the things he loved. However, he still enjoyed listening to his vast music collection, playing fantasy football with his children, and a good BBQ.
Aaron was preceded in death by his father Kelly Wood. He will be dearly missed by his mother, Marion Cunningham, daughters, Mariah Wood, Brittany Stewart, his sons Austin and Logan Wood, his Aunt Kathy, Uncle Kerry, and his cousins, Aaron and Neil.
Memorial services will be 3 PM Sunday May 23, 2021 at Souder Family Funeral Home with a visitation from 2-3 PM. The family and friends will be having a BBQ following the service to celebrate his life.
Please help celebrate the life of Aaron by sharing a memory or expressing your condolences to the family.
