Shirley Jean Porterfield Cumberland of Kansas City, Missouri passed away at age 88 on December 26th, 2017 at her home North of the river in the comfort of her loving family. On January 22, 1948 Shirley married Bobby Gene Cumberland in Aransas Pass, Texas. Shirley's highest priority in life was raising her seven children. She was widowed at age thirty-six and did a fine job of raising them on her own. She also worked for many years for Mid America Food Services, but she always put being there for her family above all else. Shirley will be remembered for being the life of every party. She had a gift for finding the fun in every situation. She loved and enjoyed her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Being in the company of children and going to the casinos were her two favorite things. Shirley was very much loved in life and will be greatly missed.
