Obituary for Gerald Joseph Hurd
Gerald Hurd, 87, passed away August 16, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church. There will be a visitation prior to the Mass from 9-10 AM, with burial in Resurrection North Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Holy Family Catholic Church.
Gerald was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 65 years, Mary Hurd; and his son, Michael. Survivors include his sons, Richard, James (Maureen), Eric (Sherry), Ron (Dusty), and John; brothers, John (Marilyn), Wayne (Maureen), and Ed (Betty); and 13 grand grandchildren.
Gerald retired from the American Can Company and General Motors. After retirement he opened Northland Honey Farms and was the biggest local honey producer in the Kansas City area. He was a devoted square dancer. The family would like to thank Pleasant Valley Manor for the excellent care of their father
